![]() ![]() Really, it’s just the lack of red detail on the belt, gray on the chest/front bumper, and pink hands. It’s just a shame they couldn’t give us just a few more paint operations. All of the right things have been changed for her legs, so the silhouette is better than ever. I am impressed with this new Studio Series 86 version, because all of the new tooling is great, backpack woes aside. I’ve been a longtime supporter of Legends Arcee being the best G1 Arcee transforming figure. Not knocking anything, just saying my preference. She is more of a legit transformer toy to me rather than a shell former. While I totally get how this new one and the earthrise one are more accurate in alt mode, I always loved the attempt at Takara to offer more vehicle integration, which homaged the original design/conception of the character. William-james88 wrote:Legends Arcee is still the best Arcee to me. I'd look forward to the DNA Designs kit featuring new arms with better hands for her but DNA sucks lately. I also look forward to the 3D printed clavicle flap replacement to accept a Titan Master. I look forward to seeing if this can beat that figure for me. I still like TR Arcee best so far for a G1ish rep despite not being the most accurate looking. This "Frankenstein" figure interests me though. If this was a straight reissue of either T30 or ER Arcee I would've skipped it. It looks like the "best" of both T30 and ER Arcee function/look wise. The hips look and function like a normal figure. So even despite not having a new fourth set of hands, this new "Frankenstein" Arcee looks like a fun action figure unlike T30 Arcee. That doesn't look like a new head though but the paint job on it isn't too bad. Legacy Arcee has closed off 5mm hands so why can't all female Transformers? I hate the open hands they put on several female figures. So not only will they drop things easily, the hands will also be fragile. Those still look like the 5mm hand arms from the T30 mold though. Then they also redid the lower legs as well to have ankle pivots like I was hoping for. That is indeed a new lower torso with a trapezoid in the middle with new hips and thighs. Okay so I wasn't seeing things last night a 1am when looking at the silhouette. What options works best for you?Īlong with arcee we have reveals for the DOTM Bumblebee, which is a slight remold of the ROTF Bumblebee, and ROTF Sideways which is a new mold. And for a more accurate car mode and no partsforming backpack, you have this toy which does have a larger backpack. For a smaller backpack with no partsforming but a less accurate car mode, you have the T30 toy. For a smaller back pack with partsforming but a more accurate car mode, you have the Earthrise toy. Well at least now G1 fans have lots of options when it comes to arcee. Of course, this has already spawned comments claiming the backpack is too big, and from there you can see how Hasbro thought giving us a removeable part of the backpack with the Earthrise toy would have been a good idea. It has a lot more car shell than the T30 version, covering the side of the car, like the Earthrise version. You can see comparison with the Takara version of the T30 mold below (the new one is the one with less accurate paint apps). So we have a flatter, more toon accurate, stomach instead of the prominant womb outline the T30 release had. In the thumbnail we have a shot that aims to answer the most pressing question from these new reveals: what exactly is this SS86 Arcee? Well, it is a new toy which has half the tooling of the thrilling 30 release (the upper half) and new tooling for the lower half.
